Show Table of ContentsThere are a number of state-specific forms you may need when going through the probate process.
General Forms
In Nevada, the local District Court handles wills and estate matters.
You can check with your local court for the forms they might prefer, and below you will find some of the more common NV forms:
- Petition for Special Administration - Apply for temporary administration
- Notice of Hearing - Notify interested parties of upcoming hearing
- Notice to Creditors - Notify creditors of your appointment
- Certificate of Mailing - Tell court you made required notices
- Inventory - Consider attaching the EstateExec Inventory Report
- Final Accounting - Consider using EstateExec's Accounting Report
- Receipt - Get a receipt for a distribution
- Petition for Discharge - Tell the court you are done
Nevada does not provide state-wide forms, so the above list includes sample forms from Clark and Washoe counties, and you can find more forms at Clark County Probate Forms or Washoe Courts Probate Forms. You may want to check with your local court for their own forms, adapt the above forms to name your county, or work with a lawyer.
In fact, even the individual counties do not provide a standard Petition for Probate (which is the normal way to start the process), because they are encouraging you to use a lawyer for these legal forms. If you really want to, you can find a copy of standard petition for yourself at the Clark County Law Library Reference Desk via the NALS (Number 164-4).
